RAV is Rear Access Vehicle: the floor is lowered so you sit in your chair with headroom, and a ramp folds down by hand at the back. No motors to fail.

Rear entryA ramp comes out of the back of the van and the chair travels up the centre of a lowered channel. Parking needs clear space behind rather than beside, which is why it suits a driveway better than a kerb.

How you get in

Rear doors, a ramp that folds down by hand, lowered floor.

  1. 01The rear doors open and the ramp folds down by hand.
  2. 02You roll straight up the ramp onto the lowered floor.
  3. 03The chair travels centre rear, on non-slip commercial flooring.
  4. 04Sure-Lok tiedowns strap the chair down. A Q'Straint belt system holds the person.

Is this the one?

The simplest way in, and the one you don't drive from the chair.

Right for you if

  • The wheelchair user is travelling as a passenger, not driving.
  • Budget is part of the decision. It's the more affordable way into an accessible van.
  • You park where side clearance is scarce. Nothing comes out sideways.
  • You want one company accountable: we built it, we warranty it, we service it here.

What it costs you

  • You can't drive from the chair. The wheelchair position is centre rear.
  • You need room behind the van, so backing tight to a wall blocks loading.
  • Someone folds the ramp down by hand, every time, at both ends of the trip.
